Used, abused, rhinestone-infused...

Junkyard Angel is "...a used, abused, rhinestone-infused" collection of musician's and talent's featuring Stewart Marshall (Stewart and Winfield) on vocals and guitar, his brother Jim Marshall (Backwoods, SoloTHang) on vocals and guitar, Scotty Rahn on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Greg Ward ((of Ex-Athens GA rockers Park Bench Trio (Lead Guitar) fame) on bass, Joe Ippolito (of Ex-Geffen Recording Artists, Remy Zero) on drums, and Allan Hughes (Athen's GA Mr. everything instrumentalist) on Pedal Steel and Fiddle...Junkyard Angel is a lot of old school country and rock that is drawing on the likes of Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Crazy Horse and the Flying Burrito Brothers with a good bit of Rolling Stones' "Goat's Head Soup" era colored outside the lines. Basically a ton of alcohol and such with some heartfelt, ass-kickin' countrytonk. Maybe that's a bit redundant, but nevertheless that's Junkyard. The band is currently in and out of the studio and playing on a semi-regular basis ('tween their other projects and rides between their various towns of Charleston, Savannah and Athens) trying to get some "good" sounding recordings of their original material to put together and finally finish a cd that has been in the works since Stewart, Scotty and Jim first started the project back in 2005 with lost members David Nickel (Bloodkin, Stewart and Winfield) and Rick Williams (Bloodkin, Park Bench Trio, Blues Olympics). The band as it stands now is as tight as ever (cept til the Patron shots start adding up) and plans to have a new cd to throw around in the next few months. Stay tuned and keep the drinks on ice. You gotta see these feller's live! Who knows you might get something free, do some boot stompin', maybe even get drunk, or perhaps even...well...who knows?
